Finding new talent down Weybridge way!
The Junior Star Singer team took another trip on the M25 across to
Weybridge for an exciting radio show for Junior Star Singer Songwriter
on Saturday 14th July. Main presenter Amanda Neale was joined by co
presenter Rachael Summers, guests Teide Bryce and Scott Thornhill who
also sang on the show.
This year, Teide Bryce (pictured above, with guitar) is Junior Judge and one
of the co-presenters for Junior Star Singer Europe, and Scott
is co presenter for Junior Star Singer Theatre Star. Both of these are
exciting new mini competitions which are being released later on in the
year. They give a new exciting appeal to Junior Star Singer. Our
Europe competition allows contestants all over Europe to be heard and
then played on our radio show. The winner will have the chance again
for have a track recorded by a great producer in the music industry and
will have it played again on stations of their choice the following
year.
Scott Thornhill came onto Brooklands
Radio to talk about Junior Star Singer Theatre Star. This opportunity
gives young artists the chance to sing and perform a track from musical
theatre. But wait for it! There's a real twist to this, there's going
to be an elimination process per episode, so a little bit traumatic but
it will be good fun still so look out on the JSS website for further
details.
Theatre Star was an idea brought together by Amanda
Neale to give young budding musical theatre artists the chance to sing a
track of their choice, and the prize is to have a cover recorded from
musical theatre! What a great opportunity!!!!! So get applying as soon
as you see it advertised folks. The episodes will feature on JSS's
original radio station, Brooklands Radio.
The
contestants that featured on the Brooklands Radio show this year are
Georgia Young and Sophie De Bruijn who sang together in a group, their
own rendition of 'A Million Dreams' from The Greatest Showman. Check
out some footage of their performance below. They are remarkable! These girls go to a
theatre group called ' Glo ' and would love to pursue a career in
musical theatre. Good luck in the competition girls!
